What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files that some services use to save and keep some of your navigation data. They are stored in your browser when you visit a website and serve as a kind of “short term memory” for your browsing session. For instance, cookies can be used to keep you logged in a website even if you close it and you come back to it later.

Cookies are saved on the browser you are using in that precise moment to surf the Internet: so they concern that particular browser, not the person who is using the browser in that moment.

Cookies we need to use (functional cookies)

Some cookies are installed in your browser because they are necessary for the website to work correctly. For example, they are used to remember who you are, whether you are logged in the website or not (and what is your user account) and what are your preferences; for example, they remember what is your preferred language for browsing the website. These cookies are not used to track or profile you.

What happens if you don't accept these cookies?

This website wouldn’t work at all if you didn’t accept these cookies. So, you have to accept them if you want to surf this website.

Cookies that help me understand what you do on my website (analytic cookies)

These are the cookies that provide analytics data. We use them to track your visits and understand how you use our website, and also to improve it and to detect fraud and abuse. These cookies are used for tracking, but not for individual user profiling, and we don’t use thema for direct marketing.

What happens if you don't accept these cookies?

We don’t get your tracking data. But that’s OK for us. ❤

Facebook cookies

As I wrote in the Privacy Policy, I might use the Facebook pixel (here is their privacy policy: https://www.facebook.com/about/privacy/), which allows me to track and analyze the results of the advertising campagins I might do on Facebook. I don’t collect any of your personal data with the Facebook pixel, but I keep track of what you do when you land on my website coming from Facebook.

What happens if you don't accept these cookies?

Reddit cookies

As I wrote in the Privacy Policy, I might also use the Reddit pixel (here is their privacy policy: https://www.redditinc.com/policies/privacy-policy-october-15-2020), which allows me to track and analyze the results of the advertising campagins I might do on Reddit. I don’t collect any of your personal data with the Reddit pixel, but I keep track of what you do when you land on my website coming from Reddit.

What happens if you don't accept these cookies?

I can’t use the Reddit pixel to advertise my products. But this is not a problem for me. ❤

All the other cookies

A lot of services use cookies in order to function. On my websites, YouTube (their privacy policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy) and Anchor (their privacy policy: https://anchor.fm/privacy) might try to use cookies. I use them to embed videos and podcasts on my website.

What happens if you don't accept these cookies?
