DIES I – THURSDAY
First video lesson, where we’ll go through Imperium Romanum, Chapter 1 from Ørberg’s LLPSI (Familia Romana). It will be an interactive lesson, with questions and a final challenge for you!
DIES II – FRIDAY
How did the Romans see the world? The second video lesson is all about ancient geography—and of course, it’s all taught in spoken Latin! But don’t worry: the content builds up on the previous lesson, and you’ll realize you understand much more than you expected.
DIES III – SATURDAY
Third video lesson, where you’ll take your first steps into Latin literature and complete a fun little detective challenge I’ve prepared for you…
DIES IV – MONDAY
The final session will be streamed next Monday, at 7 pm UTC time (this will be a streaming, not a live event). At the end, I’ll present my renovated GLL course, which has been closed for more than a year, and there’ll be special offers and bonuses for those who decide to enroll during the event!
AND… THERE’S MORE TO IT!
Make this journey even more exciting! You’ll be invited to share your exercises with me to get my feedback and support throughout the challenge.
Although I am a novice (Familia Romana, capitulum III) I enjoyed hearing the rhythm of the language and was surprised how much I understood from cognates and context.
Paola Tayvah
I have rarely seen an approach that had such immediate effects: you made me understand with minimal effort and that boosted my confidence in learning more about Latin literature.
Guy Vandenbroucke
I am understanding Latin better than ever before, and you have revolutionized my teaching. Finally my students are showing the sorts of success I have been struggling to achieve.
Patricia Case
Salve! I’m Irene: Italian Classical Philologist, Latin teacher and founder of Satura Lanx.
Since 2019, I’ve helped more than 750 Latin learners reach fluency thanks to my unique teaching method, inspired by the Natural Method, Comprehensible Input, and some of the best teachers in the world.
What’s the secret? From day 1, my students are trained to think in Latin. They get used to the flow of the Latin sentence, learn tons of new words almost effortlessly, and are exposed to real literary texts from the very beginning.
The resources I’ll be sending you during this challenge are pre-recorded videos you can watch whenever you have time during the day. No time constraints!
You’ll have time to watch the video lessons until the end of the challenge.
The Ab ovo challenge is perfect for absolute or lower beginners. No previous knowledge of Latin is required!
It can also be a great fit if you’re at a more advanced stage but you want to gain fluency and/or start to use Latin (more) actively.
Sure, you can send me an email at saturalanx@saturalanx.eu.
